Winter Program Injury Prevention & Treatment Option:
This indoor season we are excited to partner with Dr. Amy Berglund. This is an OPTIONAL service that you can sign up your child for onsite treatments for the entire indoor season.
My name is Dr. Amy Berglund, owner of Active Care Wellness Center, and I will be joining the Mountain West Youth Track Team in the capacity of Team Sports Chiropractic Physician for the 2022-23 Indoor Season.
Since I am a newer face to the team, please let me introduce myself. I was raised in Missoula and graduated from the University of Montana with a degree in Exercise Physiology. I completed my Doctor of Chiropractic degree in Chicago and am a Board-Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician, one of six in the state. This post-doctoral work in sports medicine has allowed me to travel with USA Track and Field. I worked the Olympic Time Trials for both the Rio and Tokyo Olympic Games. In 2019, I also traveled to Mexico with our U23 National Team and have worked various master’s events. Most recently (summer 2022) I traveled to the World Championships for Track and Field to provide treatments to international athletes.
As the team chiropractic sports physician for MWYTC, I will be at practice on Tuesday evenings as well as traveling with the team to all competitions. While there, I will be offering injury evaluation, injury prevention assessments and treatments for athletes for $100/entire Indoor Season. If an athlete needs more attention than what I can offer at practice, arrangements can be made to come see me at my office in Stevensville. In-office treatments can be charged to insurance or cash-pay. In addition to chiropractic, I also have a physical therapist on staff and athletes are more than welcome to use either service. My goal is to keep the team healthy and strong, to help them achieve optimal performance. Please keep in mind that I have experience and training in treating the following conditions (yes, more than spine injuries!): concussions, ankle sprains, shin splints, muscle strains, knee problems and of course spine injuries, using a multitude of techniques to treat the athletes’ specific needs.
