Summer Cross-Country Program General Information

Mountain West Track Club is offering a well-rounded cross-country training program for ages 12-18 (grade 6-12) focusing on developing flexibility, coordination, strength, endurance and speed to prepare for a successful school fall sports season for the months of June and July 2026.

The training sessions are Monday through Thursday at various locations in Missoula on varied surfaces, including track, trails, grass fields and hills. The program emphasizes building strength and improving running mechanics and efficiency, as well as teaching race strategy and pace management to prepare runners for the physical and mental demands of the 2026 cross country season.

The Summer Program is open to BOTH Middle and High school athletes in grades 6-12. (for upcoming 2026-27 school year)

SUMMER TRAINING FEE: $345

(This includes coaching, USATF membership, team hoodie, team competition singlet, registration to the following competitions)

Summer Practice Schedule

Beginning Tuesday, June 2nd (meet at Dornblaser Stadium south gate) through Thursday, July 30th, 2026

• Monday: 5-6p. Intervals for speed and endurance

• Tuesday: 5-6p. Agility, Coordination and Functional Strength

• Wednesday: 5-6p. Hills for strength and stamina

• Thursday: 5-6p. Longer Run for Endurance

There is also the opportunity to continue training in October, November and December in preparation for post school season cross country competition. See competition options below.
